Mark your calendars for the next Salt Spring Paddlers Club meeting, where we’ll be sharing highlights from another amazing summer kayaking adventure and learn about apps!

📍 Location: Salt Spring Sailing Club, 152 Douglas Rd.
We are in the process of organizing a segment on Apps that are useful when kayaking such as weather, navigation, tides, maps, communication etc. Please let us know what apps you would like to learn about. And this is a call out for volunteers to present their favourite app. The plan is to project each app onto the screen and conduct a brief overview of the features. We’ll take care of the technical aspect of projecting the app from our device. You only need to provide a brief introduction to situations where one may use the app and demonstrate the various functions and how to navigate through. Each app including comments and questions should be about 5-10 minutes. Here’s some examples of apps you may wish to present: Windy, Meteoblue, Nightsky, Marine Traffic, GPS Tracks or any other app that you find useful. There has been a suggestion that the club consider purchase of an inReach device and subscription. We are asking that a member volunteer to present the device and we will have a follow-up discussion regarding the advisability of a club purchase.
*We are looking for 4 volunteers to bring snacks* Please take your turn throughout the winter season.
